Dr. Yu received her Ph.D. from Sun Yat-sen University in 2014. After receiving her doctoral degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Dr. Yu expanded her field of expertise by training with Dr. Rongfu Wang, who is a pioneer of cancer immunotherapy and Innate Immune signaling, in the Center of Inflammation & Epigenetics at Houston Methodist, Weill Cornell Medicine, Cornell University from 2012 to 2017. In 2018, Dr. Yu was appointed full Professor at Southern Medical University in the department of Immunology, where she currently serves as the vice director of the department of Immunology. In recognition of her academic achievements, Dr. Yu was appointed as “Zhujiang Youth Scholar” in 2019-2021. Throughout her career Dr. Yu has published several papers in the top class of journals, including Immunity, Nature Communications, Molecular Cell and PNAS, and has several patents. Her work has been supported by grants from NFSC, Science and Technology Planning Project of Guangzhou and Start-up fund for High-level Talents of Southern Medical University.
